UPDATE: The Lake Alert for Park Lake has been lifted. Please resume all normal water activities associated with this lake.

The City of ORlando’s Streets and Stormwater Division has issued a Lake Alert for Park Lake due to possible elevated E. coli counts from a nearby sanitary sewer overflow.

A leak, caused by heavy grease and sand deposits in the sanitary line, released an estimated 250 gallons of sewage at the intersection of Park Lake Circle and Highland Avenue.

The City Water Reclamation crew stopped the overflow, removed the debris from the line, and have cleaned the impacted area. Signs have been placed around Park Lake advising all water contact activies to cease until E. coli counts drop to acceptable levels.
