Winter Park Planning and Zoning Board passes Henderson Hotel application

The City of Winter Park Planning and Zoning Board has passed the plans for a 132-room hotel and event center development.

The five-story Henderson Hotel, if ultimately approved, will occupy a three-acre slice of property on the eastern shore of Lake Killarney, just south of Hillstone Restaurant at 250 Killarney Drive [GMap].

The project was passed by the board with a vote of 4-3 following an hours-long series of public comments from nearby residents, both for and against the hotel. A petition is circulating HERE for parties who are against the hotel.

The project will now move to City Commission who will discuss it on January 27 and then vote on whether or not to allow the development to be located in a residential zoning district.
