Tell us why we should care about this digital beer from Oviedo Brewing

Oviedo Brewing wants everyone to know that it will be releasing its 100th-batch beer can at the end of the month but this one won’t be able to be drunk. Because it’s digital.

Oviedo Brewing has partnered with MercuryMeta, a local “digital asset” company, to create a Non-Fungible Token for their 100th batch as a brewery. Event-goers will be able to check out the NFT art at the January 29th Science on Tap event in Loch Haven Park, after which 100 of them will be available for purchase after February 2nd.

Purchase of an NFT, which will be available on OpenSea for $100 apiece, will grant you entrance to a special party celebrating the 100th batch.

Real, physical versions of the beer will also be available for purchase.
