Discover Florida Channel (Website) is looking for local homeowners to apply for their chance to win a free yard makeover that will be featured on Season 3 of “Flip My Florida Yard.”

“My Florida Yard” (Instagram | Website) focuses on spreading the gospel of Florida-friendly yards that contribute to the local environment versus fighting it or harming it and is supported by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program, and the UF IFAS Extension.

According to the UF IFAS Extension, the Nine Principles of Florida-Friendly Landscaping are:

  1. Right Plant, Right Place
  2. Water Efficiently
  3. Fertilize Appropriately
  4. Mulch
  5. Attract Wildlife
  6. Manage Yard Pests Responsibly
  7. Recycle Yard Waste
  8. Reduce Stormwater Runoff
  9. Protect the Waterfront

I wish somebody could help me with my backyard it’s become overgrown since two hurricanes in my neighbor’s trees fell on one of actually my left side of my property I’m actually lake locked so to get big brush out it’s extremely hard to walk around the townhouse building my name is Bruce Albert I live in Homestead Florida I’ve been in my house for 11 years and I think I’m losing my shoreline cuz it’s made out of limestone and the hurricanes have been beating it so I’m losing it all right God bless all of you I love this show and the happiness it brings to people
