The Florida Department of State Division of Library and Information Services has partnered with the team from Florida State Parks to provide valid cardholders the option to check out a Real Florida Reader State Park Pass.

The pass is valid for day-use only but unlocks access to 175 state parks, excluding Weeki Wachee Springs, Skyway Pier, and Homosassa Springs. The pass allows for the entry of one vehicle with a maximum of eight people per car. Passes are valid from May 21 to September 12.

Orange County was blessed with 30 passes (two per library branch) that already have a waitlist to use them. Library cardholders can request to be put on the list only over the phone by calling 407-835-7323.

The high demand will undoubtedly create long waits before you can take one home.
