SKATING RINK PHOTO VIA ORLANDO SKATE PARK

Local skate-focused Instagram page, @Central_Florida_Skate_Spots, is trying to build a groundswell of support to convince the City of Orlando to flood one of its skating rinks.

The people/person behind the page has launched a Change.org petition to temporarily fill one of the rinks at the Orlando Skate Park (Website) in The Milk District with water and convert it into a pop-up swimming pool. The petition states that it’s too hot this summer to be skating anyway, so why not create a place where skaters can take a moment and cool off?

The skate park is located at 400 Festival Way [GMap].

You can click HERE to sign the petition if that floats your boa…rd. If you’re interested in providing feedback to the City of Orlando and Orange County Government on the state of the local skatepark scene, click HERE to fill out an unrelated survey hosted by a group calling themselves The Great Orlando Skatepark Push.

If you’re not sure why the City would consider such a thing, look no further than the comment section of the petition.

  1. I know it’s just a joke but we already have public pools all over the city. No need to ruin a pool that wasn’t meant to hold water just cause you don’t know how to shred.
