The Community Redevelopment Agency is looking at installing five “strategically placed” digital kiosks in the Central Business District to help pedestrians with directions to key locations downtown, as well as offer transit options, information on local events, and more, in the near future.

The kiosks, which are a product of Soofa Sign (Website), will be part of a 12-month pilot program overseen by the CRA with installation expected to take place sometime in late August or early September. The CRA will be in charge of all content to be shared on the kiosks, including event information.

The CRA is also working on installing 32 new static/regular signage in the downtown core that will help share directions to public amenities and institutions, but that initiative doesn’t have a public timeline yet.

Sarasota rolled out similar digital kiosks four years ago, which you can see below.
