Orange County Commissioners have directed staff to start the process to draft a proposal for a Tenant Bill of Rights, following a September 27 commission meeting.

The proposed bill will include new resources for tenants that will require certain levels of housing quality, policies against discrimination, and more educational resources, based on existing codes in cities like Miami and Tampa.

Orange County is also considering launching a new Office of Tenant Services as early as January 2023 to help support the new bill.
