EDIT: Black Magic Pizza still has a signed lease for a new SoDo location at Rockpit Brewing and they are still moving forward with plans to open a news pace there in 2023.
As first reported by Amy Drew Thompson for Orlando Sentinel, Black Magic Pizza (Instagram) has abandoned its plans to open a brick-and-mortar in SoDo and instead will be taking over a fried chicken window in the Milk District.
We told you HERE in September that the popular pop-up pizza makers were opening next door to Rockpit Brewing (Instagram) at 14 W. Illiana Street [GMap], in the former home of Orlando Homebrew Supplies. Those plans allegedly changed when Black Magic and Rockpit couldn’t come to an agreement on the lease.
According to Thompson’s report, Itsa Chicken‘s (Instagram | Website) stint at Whiskey Lou’s, which opened at 121 N. Bumby Avenue [GMap] last October, will soon come to an end and Black Magic managed to slip right in.
The new Black Magic pizza window is scheduled to open in spring 2023. Itsa Chicken’s last day of business in the space was this past Sunday.
