College Park restaurant Cafe Linger (Facebook | Website) is set to close early next month.
Cafe Linger opened in the former home of NYPD Pizza at 2912 Edgewater Drive [GMap] in May 2018, serving a variety of baked goods, small plates, and shareables. They had a special children’s corner with a library of books available for diners and families to leaf through while they were dining and a robust coffee program.
We spoke with co-ower Christina Gribkowsky about the reason behind closing the restaurant and she shared that it was related to visa requirements, as she’s not an American citizen.
“My visa is not getting extended due to COVID-19 vaccine requirements I don’t agree with. So I’m forced to leave.”
– CHRISTINA GRIBKOWSKY
United States immigration law requires immigrant visa applicants to obtain a number of vaccinations, including mumps, polio, Rubella, and COVID-19, among others.
Cafe Linger’s last day of business is scheduled for December 11.
