PHOTO VIA AUDUBON PARK GARDEN DISTRICT

Following the closing of Bikes, Beans, and Bordeaux Cafe, more affectionately known as “B3 Cafe,” last week, a number of local Audubon Park residents kept asking the same question, “What will happen to the holiday bike ride?” We now have the answer.

The folks at the local Main Street offices of the Audubon Park Garden District will be taking the reigns of the Annual Holiday Lights ride, with their first spin at the event taking place on Saturday, December 17 in the Audubon Park K-8 School parking lot.

The family-friendly 5-mile bike ride will take you around the neighborhood to check out local holiday lights with a departure time of 7:15 p.m. before heading to Lobos Coffee Roasters for hot and cold drinks, and “warm conversation.” Attendees are encouraged to decorate their bikes with lights and gay apparel – not rainbows, we’re just referencing a Christmas carol.

Riders are asked to donate $3 per person which will be pooled into a special Bike Rack Fund overseen by Audubon Park.
