PHOTO OF A NEWLY PLUGGED HOLE VIA ANDREW SPEAR

Just days after a drunk driver drove his Dodge Ram pickup truck into the front of Hideaway Bar (Facebook | Website) in Ivanhoe Village, the restaurant has rallied together, plugged the hole, and is ready to reopen to customers.

Around 6 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 45-year-old Jackson Click crashed his truck through the front of Hideaway Bar and into the front of the building, sending a number of bar patrons to the hospital. Click had blown a .32 on a breathalyzer before being taken away by Orlando Police officers.

Immediately following the removal of the truck from the building, Hideaway Bar staff and friends went to work and plugged the hole in the wall, and cleared the refuse from the crash.

They will be opening just in time to host their annual Employee and Customer Appreciation Christmas Party from 8 p.m.-midnight, with all staff in attendance as well as some surprise guest bartenders. The event will feature drink specials all night and there will be an ugly sweater contest with prizes for the best and worst outfits.

Funds raised during the party will be donated to the victims of the crash. Hideaway staff will be accepting any donations, including items and services for an auction. Contact the bar for more information on how to support.
