3/8 UPDATE: Glenn Rogers is currently hosting a massive liquidation sale in the Boom Art Gallery with everything priced to move.
Boom Art Gallery (Facebook), a staple in Ivanhoe Village for the past 28 years, is closing up shop.
A passion project by husband-and-wife duo Glenn and Sandy Rogers, the long-running gallery, located at 1821 N. Orange Avenue [GMap], featured hand-built pieces by rogers ranging from custom paintings to absurdly collaged light switch covers.
Glenn Rogers, a former circus performer/sometimes actor/full-time storyteller was known by shoppers as a real talker, as he would often take one breath when you entered, start talking, and only take another breath once you’d left with a bag filled with his goodies. Those stories would feature accounts of his acting days that included roles as an extra in commercials, Ernest Saves Christmas and Quick Change. A liquidation sale has already taken place. A new tenant for the storefront had not been announced at the time of this post.
