RENDERING BY ACI ARCHITECTS

The City of Winter Park’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is looking for some assistance in naming the new city park that is being built on the former Progress Point property at Orange Avenue and Denning Drive.

The buildout of the new $3.1 million, 1.4-acre park is expected to begin this April, with a completion date sometime in early 2024, and the advisory board is hoping to have some possible park names to present to City Commission sometime before that date.

Winter Park residents can vote on one of the three options below for the new park (that’s right, you can’t just type in “Parky McParkinson” and hope for the best).

  • Progress Point Park
  • Gateway Park
  • Seven Oaks Park

While the top two are fairly self-explanatory, the third option is likely a nod to the seven large live oaks that were installed there last year. Click HERE for more information on the project and/or to vote for your favorite name.

Residents have until Wednesday, March 8 at noon to vote.
