The Plaza Live (Facebook | Website) has just issued a statement that it will close briefly this summer in order to undergo extensive renovations.

The independent venue shared that it will close to the public on June 1 to carry out “significant enhancements” that include upgrades to the building’s infrastructure, a new sound system, lighting, and stage equipment. The seating area will also be undergoing a redesign to allow for improved sightlines and “greater comfort.”

According to a press release, the lobby will also be completely updated as well, but when we asked for a copy of the renderings we were told they were not ready for the public yet, as they still needed to be presented to the Board of Directors for both The Plaza and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.

An estimated construction timeline for the renovations is also unavailable but The Plaza Live states that it will be providing updates as the project progresses.

The Plaza Live is located at 425 N. Bumby Avenue [GMap] in The Milk District.
