City District Main Street (Website), the official Main Street entity in downtown Orlando, has just launched its first-ever Traffic Box Art Program in partnership with the Downtown Arts District and the Downtown Development Board.
Artists have until June 5 to apply to make their mark on a 13 select traffic signal boxes that are located in the public right-of-way, as seen in this Instagram Reel below.
City District will award each artist with a $400 stipend to complete their approved designs. Local businesses can also participate by signing up as sponsors. The theme of the box art must tie in with the “past, present, and future of downtown” to qualify.
