This past March, longtime Milk District sandwich shop, Pom Pom’s Teahouse and Sandwicheria (Facebook | Website), suddenly announced that it would no longer be making sandwiches in the evening and would be swapping its award-winning menu out for cold noodles instead.

Owner Pom Moongauklang shared that the restaurant would transform into Pom Pom’s Big Cold Noodle Bar 7-11 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, featuring a menu of, duh, cold noodles, ranging from Bangkok rice noodle with tofu and mushroom to oxtail udon noodles. Their popular sandwiches would still be served seven days a week from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Fast forward to earlier this week, when Moongauklang took to social media to rally the troops when it became clear that the noodles weren’t as popular as the sandwiches.

That call for support apparently resounded with their guests and according to a follow-up post full of loving emojis, the sandwiches are back and the cold noodles are here to stay, with Moongauklang saying, “I heard you … LOUD AND CLEAR … You wanted the sandwich menu at night and you got it. Starting tonight, we will offer all the yummy sammies you love. Along with the cold noodles. We couldn’t be more thankful for the love you have shared in [the last few] days. The last few years have been the toughest, but that is behind us now.”

Pom Pom’s Teahouse and Sandwicheria (and sometimes Noodle House) is located at 67 N. Bumby Avenue [GMap].
