Mexican hot dog slingers Cholo Dogs (Instagram | Website), have just announced that they have taken over the kitchen at Lake Eola-adjacent brewery, Persimmon Hollow (Instagram | Website).
The Cholo Dogs team is already in control of the menu and is rolling out a menu of their food cart classics as well as some new pub-friendly items including giant soft pretzels and nachos. They’ve also added a popular limited-edition special they launched not too long ago called the “Chicano,” which is essentially a hot dog that’s being provocatively big-spooned by a big wet pickle. Pictured below taking a bath in some beer. Just the tip, anyway. Items will continue to be added throughout the summer as they settle into the new kitchen.
The DeLand-founded brewery opened its Orlando location at 227 N. Eola Drive [GMap] in September 2020 with a veggie-focused menu that apparently proved a bit of a hard sell for guests. The brewery has also done away with table service and all orders will now be taken at the bar, including food.
A grand opening is being scheduled for the week of July 19 with more information coming soon via their social accounts.
