Toasted sandwich chain Potbelly Sandwich Works (Instagram | Website) will be opening a location at Colonial Landing shopping plaza soon, at 2714 E. Colonial Drive [GMap].

The Chicago-based company launched in 1977 and focuses on signature hot subs, salads, macaroni and cheese, soups, coffee, shakes, and breakfast sandwiches. The name was inspired by the original potbelly stove that was used to toast the sandwiches at the flagship location.

The new Orlando location is expected to open at least six shops in the Central Florida region over the next seven years, according to a press release issued by the company. No opening dates are public at this time.
