Newly-opened distillery and blending house, Forward/Slash (Instagram), will be celebrating its first-ever rum release on July 29 with a special yacht-rock/tropical-themed shindig they’re calling “Wet Hot Rum Summer.”
The event will run from 2-11 p.m. at their Winter Park warehouse, located at 650 S. Capen Avenue [GMap], just behind The Porch. The new blended rum uses three different domestic producers and will be featured in a variety of cocktails prepared on-site, including special daiquiris in honor of the theme.
General admission tickets are $25 and include a welcome daiquiri as well as a cookie from PhatAsh Bakes (Instagram). VIP tickets are $125 and include a custom tiki button-down shirt, a bottle of Forward/Slash Rum, a welcome daiquiri, and a plate of food from the buffet, hosted by Mohawk Smokehouse (Instagram).
Ticketholders that show up with a bird on their shoulder, preferably a flirty little parrot, will be entitled to free daiquiris all evening. The dress code is tropical/tiki casual.
Bungalower Buddy members had special early bird access to tickets last week ahead of the public release.
