A beloved speaker series, Creative Mornings Orlando (Website), has been missing from the Orlando cultural landscape since the pandemic lockdown, but will return this month on Friday, July 28.
The series of early morning talks have featured the likes of filmmaker Jon Strong, Rollins Art Professor, Rachel Simmons, acclaimed designer Clark Orr, professional badass and musician Matt Heafy, and departed journalist, LGBTQ activist, and former mayoral candidate Billy Manes.
This upcoming event will feature a talk by Orlando’s official Poet Laureate, Shawn Welcome. Welcome, the founder of long-running spoken word night, Diverse Word, will take the stage at 8:30 a.m. at the Big Eye Agency offices, located at 3203 Lawton Road, Suite 200 [GMap].
