Orlando City SC signed midfielder Junior Urso for a 2023 contract with an option for 2024 last week, bringing “The Bear” back to the City Beautiful.

The 34-year-old Urso, who is waiting on his P-1 Visa before being available for play, shared the following, via Orlando City Soccer.

“I am very happy to be back. The time I spent away was a difficult time for me. I left the Club, but I didn’t want to leave, I needed to leave, but today I am happy to be back. I am so thankful to the Club for welcoming me back and for giving me this new opportunity to be here with you all. Orlando makes me very happy, happy to be here with the fans and with my teammates and I hope we do great things together. We are after another trophy which is what this Club and community deserve.”

The Brazilian spent a couple of years with Orlando, during which he played 100 times, scored 14 goals and 12 assists, and helped to secure a spot in the Audi 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs, before leaving the team for personal reasons later that year.
