Mayor Dyer will hoist the UCF flag outside City Hall on Thursday, July 27, ahead of this year’s college football season.

The mayor is inviting the community to join him, UCF head coach Gus Malzahn, members of the university’s cheer team, and UCF mascot Knightro as they celebrate Orlando’s hometown college football team as they enter into the Big 12 Conference.

The mayor will also give an official proclamation recognizing Orlando’s new status as a Big 12 City prior to the flag raising, inside the City Hall rotunda.

The Knights will open their football season on August 31, 2023, at home against Kent State University with the first Big 12 home game set for September 30, 2023, versus Baylor University.

The flag-rasing event will take place at 10 a.m.
