A new bookshop is currently being built out in Ivanhoe Village, and according to the owner, it will be the only BIPOC, woman-owned bookstore in Orlando.

Natisha Asbell, the founder of Authentic Books (Instagram | Website), told Bungalower that the new shop will be opening in late September or early October at 1815 N. Orange Avenue [GMap], in the same stretch of retail as White Wolf Cafe and Rare Earth.

Authentic Books will specialize in books that encourage recharging and self-care and will have a monthly subscription box service as well. Subscribers can choose three books from a curated list each month along with a bunch of other themed goodies, which you can learn more about on the website listed above.

Asbell has currently launched an online crowdfunding campaign to help with startup costs, which you can see HERE.
