Hurricane Idalia hit Florida as a Category 3 storm near Keaton Beach just before 8 a.m. with maximum sustained winds of 125 mph. And while the storm stretches about 200 miles along the west coast near Tampa Bay, Orlando came out relatively unscathed.

The City of Orlando issued an update early Wednesday morning stating that it would continue to monitor the impacts of the storm and assess any damage throughout the day.

OUC is restoring power to 13 customers who were affected by the storm and commercial waste pickup resumed at 8 a.m. this morning. Residential storm debris pickup is scheduled to resume on Thursday.

Residents are asked to bag and bundle their yard waste and to place it at the curb, not in the street. Yard waste and building materials should be separated.

LYNX resumed normal operations at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.
