The City of Winter Park has shared that it experienced minimal effects from Hurricane Idalia’s landfall earlier this morning.

Only a few minor outages were reported and they have been fully restored as of noon today. Electric crews are currently working on restoring one small outage.

No downed limbs or trees were reported and all roads are clear with no flooding reported. Lakes that were drained prior to the storm are all within proper elevations and have plenty of room for any unexpected flooding.

City Hall and Winter Park administrative offices will remain closed today and will resume normal business hours on Thursday, August 31. All board meetings scheduled for today have been canceled.

All city parks, recreation facilities, and outdoor venues will remain closed today and there will be no yard waste pickup today. Yard waste will be picked up on Saturday, September 2.
