Mark your calendars, Red Bull is bringing some of the world’s top wakeboarders to Ivanhoe Village’s Lake Ivanhoe on Saturday, September 16 as part of its Red Bull Double or Nothing event.
The event gets its name from the “double-up”, which is the moment when two wakes combine into one, growing more than three times the size of a usual wake. This allows the pros to get even more air, allowing for larger tricks, and risking huge crashes.
The event was created by wakeboarding pro Parks Bonifay and features some of the top talent in the world trying to attempt never-done-before tricks, trying to win the $10,000 prize package. Last year’s winner, Sam Brown from Australia, won with a Switch Double Moab (a double backflip with a full 360).
This year’s event will run from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Gaston Edwards Park and will feature the following roster:
