Smokemade Meats and Eats (Instagram | Website) has taken over the former Italian House Pizza and Restaurant at 1400 S. Crystal Lake Drive [GMap].

The popular barbecue concept has been popping up around Central Florida for the past few years and made a name for itself with its Texas-style ribs, pork, and scratch-made sides. Once open, the new brick-and-mortar will be offering beer and wine, and an expanded menu with more sides and desserts than they currently offer in their tent setup.

Smokemade chef/owner Tyler Brunache told Bungalower that he’s reticent to share an opening date, as they encountered some construction delays with the City of Orlando but that he’d passed his recent fire inspection.

While they await approval from City Hall, Smokemade Meats will be hosting a series of pop-up workshops, sharing behind-the-scenes lessons on how they make their crowd-favorite meats and how they host their pop-ups. A brisket and ribs workshop will take place on October 7 and a sausage workshop will be on October 21 – follow their socials for more information on how to sign up.
