Popular speaker series, The Winter Park Institute (Website), is back in action as an independent non-profit, under the direction of Lauren Zimmerman, the owner of Writer’s Block Bookstore, and Jeffrey Blyndenburgh.
The series is slated to return on November 10 with a talk entitled “Empowering Voices, Building Futures, led by authors Ryan Craig and Stephen Shedletzky. The event is scheduled to open at 7 p.m. at the Bush Auditorium at Rollins College.
Ryan Craig is a managing director at Achieve Partners, an investment firm engineering the future of learning and earning, and the author of “A New U: Faster + Cheaper Alternatives to College” – one of the Wall Street Journal’s Books of the Year for 2018.
Stephen “Shed” Shedletzky, is a speaker, coach, advisor, and author of “Speak-Up Culture: When Leaders Truly Listen, People Step Up.”

he series was founded in 2008 to feature world-renowned scholars in a public forum, including Star Trek‘s George Takei, Beyonce of Urbanism Candy Chang, and National Geographic Fellow, Joel Sartore, and was rooted in Rollins College’s tenents of furthering humanities and liberal arts.
