Local photographer Craig Boliver (Website) is up for consideration for “America’s Favorite Photo” right now as part of an online contest.
His shot, entitled “Take Me With You,” above, is in the quarter finals for the America’s Favorite Photos competition. The photo depicts a beat up lifeguard tower by the ocean in the wee hours of the morning, with a SpaceX shuttle taking off in an arc behind it.
“The composition has been sitting in my head for quite a while, but had been waiting for everything to line up correctly. Honestly, I was going to pick a different spot this particular morning and decided to put in some more planning work and figure out the correct trajectory path. It paid off for sure. SpaceX Crew Dragon w/ a Falcon9 booster at 3:52am, capturing a full 5:00 minute exposure time. Here’s to taking steps up and being proud of what you do.”
