Dr. Phillips Charities, the group behind the under-construction Packing District development just west of College Park, will be hosting a free outdoor concert at its new pavilion in the heart of the new up-and-coming neighborhood.

The new Della Phillips Pavilion, named after the wife of Dr. Phillips – the charity’s namesake, will open to the public at 5 p.m. December 2, featuring a performance by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.

“We are delighted to kick off the holiday season with this inaugural event at the Della Phillips Pavilion. Della was a patron and lover of the arts, known for hosting performances at her home for the community. In so many ways, Della herself would be overjoyed that we are carrying on her tradition and bringing families together to support our community’s talented musicians.”

– KEN ROBINSON, PRESIDENT/CEO, DR. PHILLIPS CHARITIES

The program will be led by assistant conductor Mauricio Cespedes Rivero and feature a holiday-themed lineup with music from “A Christmas Festival,” “Frozen,” and “The Night Before Christmas.”

Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream will be serving from their food truck.

The new Della Phillips Pavilion is located at 2002 Packing District Way [GMap] near the new YMCA and Tennis facilities.
