Winter Park-based distillery and blending house, Forward/Slash (Instagram), has just released a new limited edition, Krampus-inspired rye for the holidays.
The Krampus Rye is a rye whiskey that was aged in spiced rum barrels, which give it a rich color and a bit of spice to boot. The owners say it tastes like “Christmas in a bottle,” and shared that it was made using 81.27% Manifest Rye from Florida and 18.73% Journeyman Last Feather Rye from Michigan with flavors of “allspice, cinnamon, and baked apples with notes of vanilla, cedar, chestnuts roasting on an open fire, and stewed cherries.” They also just released a new egg nog using Krampus Rye in the recipe.
Bottles of Krampus Rye are priced at $89.99 apiece.
