The Orange County Regional History Center (Website) has just unveiled an enhanced visitor experience featuring new enhancements of its core exhibitions, which have been in place since the museum first opened in 2001 in the historic courthouse building in downtown Orlando.

Improvements include more bilingual content, the use of more accurate and appropriate language, and the addition of new interactive components, including animated projections that let visitors explore the language of the Timucua people who once called this area home.

“We hope these new and engaging elements will help bring history to life for our visitors. They are a step in the right direction for the museum we are working to become.”

– PAM SCHWARTZ, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, ORANGE COUNTY REGIONAL HISTORY CENTER

Museum visitors can look for fresh narratives popping up across all of the museum’s galleries in the coming weeks, including in the historic courtroom, where text panels now share stories of cases that took place there, including the story of Lenny Randle, a Black Major League baseball player whose 1977 trial in Orlando, after an altercation with his manager became a national event.

The Orange County Regional History Center is located at 65 E. Central Boulevard [GMap].
