The City of Orlando is looking for local visual artists to submit their work for an upcoming Black History Month exhibition at City Hall.

The Black History Monty Display will be a part of the city’s Black History Month events throughout February, in the city’s Terrace Gallery at City Hall from February 2 through March 31, 2024.

Artists have until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, January 7, to submit their work to the Office of Multicultural Affairs at [email protected] with the following information.

  • The artist’s full name and desired name to be used in the artwork labels.
  • Artist biography or resume.
  • Artist’s e-mail and telephone number.
  • Photos of a minimum of five pieces of artwork in JPG format. (Artwork related to African American culture and experience is recommended.)
  • Descriptions about each piece of artwork.
  • Each submission must be labeled with:
    • Name of artist
    • Art title
    • Year created
    • Measurements
    • Medium

Artists will be selected based on the appropriateness of their proposal, the wall-readiness of their 2-D art, and their professional history of completing works on time. Selected artists will be contacted via email with the date and time to deliver their pieces to City Hall.
