“If I could choose the talent I would most like to have, it would be a glorious voice. I would be a great diva, perhaps Renata Tebaldi or Beverly Sills or, in the mezzo range, Marilyn Horne.”

– JUSTICE RUTH BADER GINSBURG

Local opera company Opera del Sol (Website) will be performing a contemporary opera by Derrick Wang, based on the real-life friendship between Supreme Court justices Antonin Scalia and Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Scalia/Ginsburg is a one-act operatic comedy between the two Justices and a “pivotal moment that would change the Supreme Court for years to come.”

The production will feature musicians from the Alterity Orchestra (Website), under the direction of collaborative pianist, Philip King.

The production will open on Friday, March 14, to commemorate Justice Ginsburg’s 91st birthday and feature only three performances at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Tickets start at $35 and are available HERE for purchase.
