The Orlando Solar Bears (Instagram | Website) have just announced that they successfully claimed a Gunness World Record title for the largest gathering of people wearing Aloha shirts at a recent match against the Atlanta Gladiators.

“We are thrilled to share this monumental achievement with the city of Orlando, all of Central Florida, and Solar Bears fans around the world. We thank everyone for their continued support of Solar Bears hockey, and for their participation in this event.”

– CHRIS HELLER, PRESIDENT, ORLANDO SOLAR BEARS

The game saw an estimated 1,254 fans participate in the challenge by wearing Hawaiian-inspired business casual button-ups for the game. To qualify and be counted in the record-breaking attempt, the shirt had to be short-sleeved, buttoned from top to bottom and consisted of at least three colors and a pattern.

The players also wore special “Beach Night” jerseys that are now available to take home via an online auction HERE.

Orlando Solar Bears also beat Atlanta 1-0 for a cherry on top of an evening full of wins.
