“Hey, Bungalower. They took down the no left turn sign at Mills and 50 … the most important part of that intersection!”

– C. GROZINGER

A recent FDOT road project in Mills 50 resulted in the replacement of a collection of traffic light arms at the intersection of Mills Avenue and Colonial Drive. That same intersection, at the heart of Orlando’s Little Vietnam, has gotten a lot of hate through the years, including being listed as one of the 25 Worst Intersections Orlando Has to Offer, according to Orlando Weekly.

According to countless comment sections and Reddit lists, the worst part of the intersection, aside from the long intervals in light changes, is the no left turn sign for northbound traffic on Mills Avenue, or rather, the inability of at least one driver every light change, to see that they are not able to turn, causing cars at least one street back to be unable to make it through the light on time.

Horns are honked, cuss words are cussed, and life goes on, but an eagle-eyed Bungalower reader did call attention to the recent misplacement of the aforementioned no left turn sign following the update to the intersection.

We reached out to the City of Orlando and FDOT about the missing sign, and were informed just a day or two later that the sign had been reinstalled, and was back in action after being “removed temporarily to allow contractors to work on the mast arm.”

Now you can get back to honking your horn at that idiot in front of you holding everyone up.
