A new Dutch-style fry restaurant specializing in “cone fries” will open this Thursday, March 28, in Winter Park.

The Fry Shoppe (Instagram) has moved into the former home of the Fuelspresso drive-thru on the corner of Semoran and Aloma at 489 N. Semoran Boulevard. It specializes in fries covered in the customer’s choice of ten different scratch-made sauces and toppings.

The concept was dreamed up by Wilson Santos, former owner of Vinyl Arts Bar/MamaJuana in the North Quarter. Santos shared in a prepared statement that he first fell in love with cone fries on a trip to Amsterdam in 1994, and they became a staple of his visits on his “many return trips since then.”

Drive-thru and pickup will be available once open, and they plan to operate seven days a week from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
