It’s been a dramatic day on iHeart Radio station Real Radio 104.1 FM, with social media buzz about the loss of some popular on-air talent.

Carlos Alberto Navarro (Instagram) was the first to publicly announce that he would no longer be working for the station. Navarro is one of the many faces on “Monsters in the Morning,” as well as an actor and comedian with roles in The Walking Dead, and several Marvel projects.

The announcement was followed by the airing of a Best Of episode of “The News Junkies,” when staff and talent were reportedly called into a mandatory staff meeting to discuss further changes coming to the station.

Host Jim Colbert came on The Jim Colbert Show at 3 p.m. to share an update that comedian Rauce Padgett would no longer be on the program. Understandably upset, Colbert shared appreciation for Padgett’s role on the show since it launched five years ago and shared that Padgett will still be working with Orlando City Soccer hosting the games with Sabrina Ambra, and that he had an upcoming show at the Fringe Theater Festival for locals who would like to support him.

Showmate Deb Roberts chimed in to say that the decision had nothing to do with his performance but was simply a top-down decision.

This is a developing story. Further changes at the station have not been made public at this time. Real Radio has yet to make a formal announcement.

Bungalower Media currently has a weekly show on Real Radio 104.1 FM that airs every Friday at 8 p.m.

  1. I hope a competing station picks them up. Just another case of corporate greed and trying to fix something that isn’t broken.
