The folks at Orlando Weekly love making lists. It’s totally their thing, so much so that we rarely dabble in them ourselves. But a recent roundup of the “25 Orlando Restaurants Every New Resident Needs to Try Before Calling Themselves a Local” last month definitely needed some tweaking. So, rather than sit on our hands and huff into the air, we decided to make our own.

Some of these suggestions will shock you. Some of them will inspire you. But know that all of these businesses have earned our respect and appreciation by standing out and being uniquely themselves, and simultaneously for being very Orlando.

So enjoy the list, y’all. This one’s from the heart, and in no particular order.
