The Ivanhoe Village Main Street (Website) has issued a Call to Artists for their Art Box initiative; a program pushed by the City of Orlando to help brand the city’s Main Streets.

Whereas the subject matter for Mills 50’s art box program was open for the wide interpretation of the participating artists, Ivanhoe’s submissions must relate to Ivanhoe’s unique culture, history, and unique story; like the Paul Wegman box near The Imperial.

Designs will be chosen to adorn six boxes in the district and entries are open to Orange County residents. Selected artists will be paid $17 per square foot painted but they are responsible for their own supplies.

Submissions are due by June 29, 2018. Once selected, the box must be painted within four weeks of the artist being notified.

Editor’s Note: Yes, that means August painting.
