So, we already told you about the elevated levels of microsystins in Lake Silver HERE, but as a result, the City went and checked out some downstream lakes to see if they had any algae too and sure enough, there were some visible blooms on Lake Daniel.
As such, they’re advising people to stay away from Lake Daniel until further notice, that includes using the water to irrigate your lawn and things with.
Because of the potential for harm to humans and pets, the City will begin performing weekly microcystin testing until the algae appear to have died. You can register for the Lake Alert at orlando.gov/lakealert so you can get important information about Lake Daniel directly.
