We told you HERE that the Orlando Science Center had entered an agreement with 4 Rivers Smokehouse (Facebook | Website) and its foodie-philanthropic arm, 4 Roots Farm, to transform its ground floor café into an entirely new concept.
The 4Roots Cafe and Food Heroes Exhibit will serve up more than healthy, locavore bites. The new concept will completely transform the first floor of the Science Center into a living exhibit where plant science, cooking demonstrations, and lunch meld together.
“The cafe will consist of interactive stations about how health can start at home,” says John Rivers. As a self-sustainable restaurant, the menu will feature local produce from the 4Roots Farm in the Packing District, as well as grab and go snacks from Tessa’s Table, all served on biodegradable materials.
The 4Roots Foundation’s $600,000 goal is to elevate the farm-to-table experience while aligning education, food systems, and healthy eating.
