An ambitious art gallery concept we first told you about in April 2023 has shuttered due to some sort of hullabaloo between the property owner and title sponsor.

The team at FusionFest (Website), a non-profit sponsored by the Orange County Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs, launched a gallery in the Aspire Apartments penthouse in downtown Orlando as part of their ongoing mission to, “celebrate the people and cultures that make Central Florida awesome.”

According to a release issued by Gareth Edwards, the Visual Arts Curator for FusionFest, Aspire Gallery was forced to close for “circumstances beyond our control.” When pressed for more information, Edwards said, “our sponsor for the space decided to end their relationship with the building ownership. It came down to a landlord-tenant issue.”

As a result of the closure, all of the artwork from the current exhibition has been relocated and returned to their respective artists. Additionally, the upcoming show titled Freedom, originally scheduled to be held at Aspire, has been postponed.

Edwards shared that FusionFest is looking to secure a new home in downtown Orlando for their visual arts programming.
