A Japanese fluffy pancake restaurant we first told you about HERE in 2022 has just opened in Colonialtown.

At the time of our first report, the restaurant was expected to be a new location of the Canadian chain, Fuwa Fuwa (Website), but that has apparently changed. At the time of the opening, the restaurant was officially named “Fluffy Fluffy,” which is an actual Japanese-to-English translation of the word. Close enough to be inspired but different enough to make it their own, apparently.

The name refers to the special type of souffle pancake that the restaurant specializes in. They’re made with highly whipped egg whites that are beaten into high, airy peaks before being cooked at a slow and low temperature to preserve their ultimate fully fluffiness. Each pancake is made-to-order and takes roughly 20 minutes to prepare.

Fluffy Fluffy (Website) soft-opened this past weekend at 2008 E. Colonial Drive [GMap]. The current menu is limited to three options; tiramisu, strawberry, and the OG Fluffy Fluffy.
