The King of Reggaeton, Daddy Yankee, has just launched a new Pro Padel League (Website) Team in Orlando, called the “Flowrida Goats.”

Padel, or padel tennis, has origins in Mexico and is similar to pickleball but can only be played as doubles, whereas pickleball can be played as both singles and doubles. It’s often referred to as a mix between squash and tennis and is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world.

PPL launched in 2022 with an inaugural season featuring seven franchises ranging from Los Angeles, San Diego, Miami, Toronto, Mexico, Arkansas, and Las Vegas, with Las Vegas Smash walking away with the 2023 PPL Cup Championship win.

Padel rackets are a bit more pricey than other sports as they use higher-quality materials like carbon fiber or graphene.

“As president of our padel team, I’m thrilled to unveil our new team name – a symbol of unity, passion, and competitive spirit. Let’s embrace this fresh identity and conquer the court together!”

– LUIS CARRERO, PRESIDENT, FLOWRIDA GOATS

A game schedule for the new team is not public at this time.

Major League Pickleball added an Orlando team, Orlando Squeeze, this past January.
