Award-winning Deadwords Brewing (Website) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on October 1, 2023.
The popular brewery, located at 23 N. Orange Blossom Trail [GMap], listed between $500,000-$1 million in assets and $1 million-$10 million in liabilities during the filing process.
According to the owner, David Satterfield, the decision to file was a “tough decision,” saying, “We’ve had a rough go financially for the past year, and my personal ability to keep it afloat dried up.”
Satterfield also stated that the move was meant to rearrange the debt so they could continue to move forward and that there were no plans to shut down.
