“Morning. Do you guys know what’s up at Garp and Fuss? They’ve been closed a week. No sign. Nobody answers phone, and no voicemail.”

– M. WALLMAN

At the time of this post, we have reached out multiple times to the owners for information regarding the sudden closure of popular Winter Park restaurant, Garp and Fuss (Instagram | Website), inquiring if the current closure is considered temporary or permanent, but have not received a response.

As Mr. Wallman indicated in his email, they have also not been answering phone calls and social media accounts have not been updated in months.

Garp and Fuss owners, Nikki Nielsen and Liz Zucco, opened their American-Fusion restaurant back in January 2018  in the former home of Bistro on Park Avenue in Winter Park, at 348 N. Park Avenue [GMap]. The menu features comfort food classics like wings, flatbreads, and Cubanos alongside pork banh mis and decadent butternut squash ravioli.

Zucco recently appeared on Very Local’s Blind Kitchen cooking competition, where she faced off against Se7enbites’ chef/owner Trina Propst in a blindfolded cooking/tasting challenge.

A representative of the Park Avenue District Main Street Program shared that they didn’t believe the restaurant was closing, but rather was struggling to find adequate staff. Online forums like Reddit have also posited that there was a sudden health emergency that led to a temporary closure, but neither of those hypotheses has been confirmed.

We hope to share information of their reopening sometime soon.
