  1. Taylor Swift is threatening to sue a local UCF student and it’s still not the weirdest thing to happen here this week.
  2. Winter Park wants to push out gas-powered leaf blowers and a new ordinance was set to come into play this summer but lawn maintenance companies (who, let’s be honest, are responsible for most of the lawns in Winter Park) put pressure on city hall for more time to come into compliance. They now have an additional six months to figure out how to transition to electric units and give up their gas-guzzling pasts.
  3. Netflix’s Somebody Feed Phil has a new season coming out and one of the only two episodes about an American city took place in Orlando. In other movie news, Heart of Florida United Way just released a new film about the local leaders who have faced racism in Central Florida and everyone is talking about it.
  4. Despite announcing that they’d sealed the deal on the former home Hungry Pants in the SoDo District for a new diner/theater concept, the owners of College Park Cafe wound up backing out of the project before signing the lease.
  5. The former home of Cafe Linger in College Park will soon be home to a new donut concept.
  6. Orlando Fringe named an interim director just in time as they ramp up for this year’s fest in the spring.
  7. Popular former bank turned Portuguese/Italian restaurant, Bem Bom, on Corrine Drive, has closed. The owner tells us that something is already in the works for the space.
