  1. The City of Orlando surprised everyone last week (everyone except the Orlando Sentinel who managed to have an article come out at the same time City Hall sent out a press release) with an update on the long-awaited Under-i urban park project. Spoiler alert, it’s now called The Canopy and it looks like the Wonderful Land of Oz.
  2. Orlando City Council wants to extend the current moratorium on nightclubs and bars downtown, citing that city staff needs more time to drum up ideas for more permanent changes to the city code that will make downtown more “neighborhoody” and family-friendly.
  3. Orlando City Soccer announced a new lineup of local food vendors ahead of their home game opener against Montreal at Inter&Co Stadium with new names like Hollerbach’s German Restaurant, King Bao, and Flippers Pizzeria on the roster.
  4. Leu Gardens is hosting its annual Spring Plant Sale on March 9 and 10. It’s two full days of free admission to the gardens, over 50 plant vendors, and more, all in the beautiful historic botanical gardens in Audubon Park. Bring a wagon and/or consider biking.
  5. The Drake Kitchen and Bar is now open in downtown Orlando and yes they serve duck. Check out our photos of the media preview before you go.
  6. Snap! Orlando is opening three new photo exhibits next month and one of them has some pretty provocative photos of Eminem.
  7. Bungalower is the proud media sponsor of a St. Patrick’s Day water balloon tournament in Baldwin Park on March 17. Tactical Brewing will be hosting the show and Orlando Parking Lot Party will be inviting a curated list of some amazing food vendors.   8. Beloved selfie warehouse, Wall Crawl Orlando, has just announced that it will be closing its Parramore space and is actively looking for a new home.
  9. Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts just shared the 2024-25 Broadway in Orlando lineup, which includes the return of some old favorites and a bunch of jukebox musicals.
